Annual Ryegrass Overview
Polygonatum multiflorum is rhizomatous perennial in the Asparagaceae family. It produces arching stems up to 90cm in height and bright-green, elliptic leaves. In early summer, white, bell-shaped flowers with green tips and a double structure appear, they are suspended beneath the leaves. The typical spread of this species is 25cm, it is popular in cultivation as a colonising plant, well suited to shady, woodland environments. This plant is one of three native species to the UK, with the others being Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum verticillatum.
