Royal Fern Overview

A beautiful, large fern that can grow to 2.5m in height bearing brown stems that turn to a reddish brown in the autumn. Ideal for planting by ponds, streams or rivers and enjoy boggy soils, however they can grow in almost any soil type. This plant has been awarded a Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. This is a common feature plant. ZA Distribution: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Western Cape.
