Sacred Bamboo Overview
Nandina domestica is an evergreen shrub species with an upright, bamboo-like growth habit. Known by the common name, Sacred Bamboo, this species is considered elegant and reaches a maximum size of 1.5m high and wide. The foliage of Nandina domestica is compound, divided into lanceolate-shaped leaflets which are purple-tinged upon emergence and also during winter. Delicate white flowers are produced on branched inflorescences, leading onto attractive red berry fruits.
