Flower of Jove Overview

Silene flos-jovis was recently reclassified from Lychnis flos-jovis. It is a deciduous perennial from the Caryophyllaceae family, originating from the Alps to Central Italy. It produces hairy, grey foliage and clusters of attractive pink, red or white flowers measuring around 2.5cm in diameter. Commonly known by the names Flower of Jove and Flower of Jupiter, amongst others. Grow in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
