    Overview

    Silene coronaria is a short-lived, semi-evergreen perennial plant that is often grown as a biennial, from the Caryophyllaceae family. It is commonly known by the names Rose Campion and Dusty Miller, amongst others and this plant was previously known as Lychnis coronaria. It produces silver-grey foliage with a felted texture. Flowers measure around 3cm in diameter, they are coloured bright rose-purple, appearing from late summer. Grow this hardy plant in full sun to partial shade, in well-draining soil. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
