Danford Iris Overview

Iris danfordiae (Reticulata Group) is a yellow-flowering species with an upright habit, in the Iris family, Iridaceae. It's a small, deciduous, bulbous perennial that produces attractive scented blooms early in spring. Typically grows to around 10cm tall, producing single, yellow flowers with brown-green speckles on the 6 petals. Foliage is narrow and short prior to flowering, leaves have 4 sides and elongate to a size of around 30cm long during flowering. Irises categorised in the Reticulata Group produce a characteristic fibrous net around their bulbs
