American Holly Overview

Ilex opaca is also known as American Holly, this mid-sized evergreen species is originally from the United States. It grows to around 20m high, producing broadly ovate, slightly shiny, green, stiff leaves which are often paler yellow on the underside and edged with sharp points. Flowers are small, green-white and like other holly species, only female plants produce red berry fruits.
