String Of Buttons Overview
Crassula perforata is a fast-growing, sprawling perennial shrub that produces succulent leaves in a stacked arrangement. Leaves are grey-green and triangular in shape. They are closely, oppositely arranged on spiral stems, creating a stacked look. In strong sunlight, leaves may take on an attractive pink-red colouration to the edges. The longer the stems, the more pendent they become, making them a popular choice for growing in containers and hanging baskets. Commonly known as String of Buttons, this attractive succulent is a commonly grown houseplant - it does well in bright sunlight, but can cope with partial shade. As with all succulents, over-watering is the commonest route to plant death so allow the soil to dry out thoroughly between waterings. It performs best when grown in slightly acidic soil. As an indoor plant, it may produce yellow, star-shaped flower at any time of the year.
