Farewell to spring Overview

Clarkia is a genus originating from the Americas, with the majority of species found in Western North America. This genus contains around 42 annual plants, they typically do not exceed heights of 1.5m and foliage is small, simple and varies in size across species. Grown for their bright, showy, highly colourful flowers, which are 4-petalled and have 4 sepals protecting the flower. Previously this genus was classified under another name, it has now been merged with Clarkia and some species within this genus are referred to generally by the old genus name, godetia.
