    Painted Fingernail Overview

Originating from rainforest environments in South Brazil, this species typically grows to around 40cm tall and 80cm high. Produces attractive rosettes of leathery, strap-shaped, dull green coloured leaves with red tips, these measure around 45cm long and the innermost rosette of foliage is also coloured red. Flowers are blue with purple-red modified leaves surrounding them, termed bracts. The latin spectabilis translates to showy or spectacular, referencing the overall impressive appearance of this species.
