    Portea Overview

    Portea is a small genus containing around 8 species in the Bromeliaceae family. They originate from eastern Brazil, where they are found growing natively along the Atlantic coast. They produce rosettes of often spiny foliage and long flowering stems with brightly coloured blooms.
