Baneberry Overview

Genus of 10-20 hardy perennials commonly called baneberry or bugbane. They are rhizomatous perennials, often found in woodland settings in temperate climates of the Northern hemisphere. Mainly grown for their tooth-edged foliage and (very poisonous) red or white berries, plants from this genus also produce fluffy white racemes of small white flowers. Ideal for woodland or shady, mixed herbaceous borders.
