Cobra Lily Overview

Chasmante is part of the Iris family. C. floribunda and C. aethopica was split into seperate lines in 1812 with C. floribunda slightly larger. This easy growing corms have abundant leaves and warm orange flowers appearing above the long iris-like leaves. It naturally grows on forest margins in clay soils along the South African coast. They work great when planted under a deciduous tree as they seem to come alive when the deciduous trees go dormant. This is a common feature plant. ZA Distribution: Northern Cape, Western Cape.
