Gold carpet, Yellow-tipped straw-flower (Eng.), Goue tapyt (Afr.)
This attractive, fast growing ground cover has small silvery leaves and bright flat-topped canary-yellow flowers that bloom from summer to autumn. It grows easily in a wide range of conditions, from coastal dunes to forest margins, and along coastal mountainsides in summer and winter rainfall zones. The leaves are aromatic and traditionally used as a pain reliever, for coughs and colds and as a wound dressing.
