    Hylomecon Overview

A small genus containing just 2 species of rhizomatous flowering plants in the Papaveraceae family native to Eastern Asia. Known as the forest poppy, these plants are grown for their large cup-shaped yellow flowers and attractive lobed and toothed leaves. Being woodland dwellers in the wild they prefer a shaded spot with moist soil.
