Reineckea Overview

Reineckea is a monotypic genus comprising one species of evergreen perennial called Reineckea carnea. It is in the Nolinoideae subfamily of the Asparagaceae family, native to open woodlands in China and Japan. Produces clumps of strap-like, grassy bright green leaves and fragrant, star-like, pink flowers. These are borne on short spikes and followed sometimes by red berries. Best grown in a shady site and acid or neutral humus-rich soil.
