Overview

A small genus containing 2 species of bulbous perennial flowering plants in the Amaryllidaceae family, native to Eurasia but widely naturalised to other locations. Commonly known as snowflakes, they produce clumps of strap-shaped leaves and are cultivated for their snowdrop-like, white, bell-shaped flowers, these are marked with green. They are popular plants for their ability to thrive in damp and clay-rich soils.
