Fairy Bells Overview

The genus Disporum is also known by the name fairy bells, it contains approximately 21 hardy, rhizomatous perennials. Evolved from woodland habitats in Eastern and Southeast Asia. This genus produces often white, but sometimes yellow or purple hanging bell-shaped flowers and develop into orange, red or black coloured berries. Some species from North America once included in this genus have been reclassified and moved into other genera.
