Chrysanthemoides Overview

Small genus with just 2 described species of shrubs, subshrubs or small trees, occasionally with spines. One of these is a well known invasive species, commonly known as Bitou Bush, Chrysanthemoides monilifera. This genus is named for its resemblance to the related genus Chrysanthemum and lies in the Asteraceae family of daisies, also known as the Asteraceae family. It produces daisy-like yellow blooms with many rounded, linear petals. Foliage is alternately arranged and egg-shaped, with either smooth or toothed edges.
