Romeo Wax Agave Overview

The cultivar Echeveria agavoides ‘Romeo’ is a clumping succulent, it forms rosettes up to 15cm tall and 30cm wide. Leaves are attractively coloured pink to purple-grey, with red colouring along the leaf edges, individual leaves taper to a non-sharp spine. Flowers are red-pink and bell-shaped, produced from between the leaves on a tall raceme structure. They have yellow colouration on the inner throat and pointed petals. Flowering occurs throughout spring and summer. This cultivar has been awarded a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit and is commonly grown around the world as a houseplant.

Sown at 15 - 18ºC in early spring

Cuttings

Separate plantlets that have started to developed roots or take leaves from the base of the plant in spring. Leave them to callus over for a few days before placing on the surface of a tray of cactus compost topped with grit. Then place in a warm position with good light.
