Philodendron Birkin Overview
Philodendron 'Birkin' is an evergreen perennial cultivar from the Araceae family. A fiendishly popular houseplant in the UK and elsewhere, finding one isn't always easy! This houseplant wants to be in bright, indirect sunlight. It comes from deep under the tropical canopy, so think about how you can recreate that environment. Philodendron 'Birkin' wants to always stay moist, but not continuously damp, so let them nearly dry out before another water. Good drainage in the soil is important - you can do this by adding perlite to the soil. Philodendron 'Birkin' will also enjoy the highest humidity you can provide! Foliage is dark green and glossy, with stripes of attractive variegation in shades of creamy-yellow. The leaves are oval in shape and grow to around 20cm long. Mature plants may produce flowering spathes.
