Evergreen bittersweet Overview
Euonymus fortunei is a prostrate or mound-forming evergreen shrub with small, oval, slightly leathery leaves. The foliage is often variegated - the bright/dark green contrasted with white or - sometimes very bright - yellow/gold. Sometimes the leaves can be tinged with pink. It rarely flowers. There are many cultivars of Euonymus fortunei, all of which like poor soil. Preferring a sunny position, they also do well in partial shade. They need little maintenance but with support and minimal training, they will climb quickly up walls and through trees, often brightening up a dark corner.
