Sausage tree Overview

This genus contains 18 species of tropical and subtropical trees, The compound leaves are made up of oval leaflets. They will produce large bell-shaped flowers; these are borne in long pendent racemes and are mostly orange or red. They are frost tender, min 16C and will require full light and humus-rich, well drained soil. You should water the potted specimens moderately; don't over water when the temperature is low. Propagation is by seeds in the spring.
