Honey locust Overview
Contains around 15 hardy, deciduous tree species, most of which possess spikes. Typically grown for their foliage. Flowers are discrete and green-white or yellow-white in colour. Leading onto large, orange-red seed pods in optimal hot summer conditions. This genus originates from North America and Asia and includes some hybrid species. It lies in the Fabaceae (Fabaceae) family of legumes, peas and beans.
