Dombeya Overview

Genus of over 220 evergreen trees and shrubs. Flowers are 5 petalled, resembling those of mallows and are the main reason for growing, with multiple cultivars bred by botanists for use as ornamental garden plants. Frequently seen colours include yellow, pink white and red and flowers are borne in dense, pendant clusters and often scented. This genus is commonly found growing throughout Africa and Madagascar and tends to possess large, lobed or unlobed, simple leaves which are sometimes heart-shaped.
