Contains about 25 clumping, evergreen, perennial grasses also termed snowgrass. These are distributed mainly in New Zealand, with some species found in other locations nearby like New Guinea and Australia's Lord Howe Island. Common reasons for growing include their overall graceful appearance, colourful foliage and delicate flowers. Flowers are very small and borne on a feathery inflorescence.
