Overview

Genus containing around 12 evergreen tree and shrub species originally from woodland habitats in the Himilayas and Eastern Asia. They are grown for their foliage, flowers and edible fruits. Leaves are leathery and veined, elliptic to lance-shaped and dark green in colour. Flowers are small, white, with 5 petals and produced in clusters on branched stems.
