Overview

Brassica is a genus of roughly 39 hardy, annual, perennial and evergreen biennial plants, including species of widely cultivated vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. These are all cultivars of the same species, Brassica oleracea. Some species are grown for their ornamental foliage and they originated from Western Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia, limited to temperate regions.
