Prunus cistena Overview
A hybrid between a purple-leafed form of Prunus cerasifera and the American sand cherry P. pumila. Has a weak-stem and is to 2.4m tall shrub with red-brown leaves to 6cm long. The white flowers are borne singly or in pairs in spring and are followed in summer by small deep purple fruit.
