Neoregelia Overview

Neoregelia is a genus of evergreen epiphytic flowering plants in the Bromeliaceae family native to the rainforests of South America. They form rosettes of strap-like leaves and clusters of small tubular flowers with often brightly coloured bracts in the centre of the rosette. These plants are commonly cultivated and there are many varieties and hybrids available, bred for their diverse leaf colours and forms. They grow best in a vivarium in orchid compost and as they are tender plants they need temperatures higher than 10 degrees C.
