Goat-root Overview

Ononis natrix is a shrubby perennial from the Fabaceae family. Commonly known by the names Yellow Restharrow, Shrubby Restharrow or Restharrow. Yellow Restharrow produces pretty pea-like, yellow flowers with red streaking in the summer, typically growing to around 1m tall. It spreads through underground rhizomes. Ononis natrix produces slightly hairy foliage and toothed, green leaves Many species in this genus are also known by the common name Restharrows, some are considered weeds. They are found growing naturally across Europe.
