Tickseed Overview

Bidens contains almost 150 species of annual and perennial creeping plants. Characterised by their bristly fruits, they have 2 sharp protrusions at the ends. Native to tropical and warm temperate climates, the highest species diversity is in the Americas, Africa and Polynesia, with some species in Asia and Europe. Flowers are usually yellow, but also red, orange and white forms are seen.
