Moor grass Overview
This genus of 2 species of deciduous perennial grasses in the Poaceae family originates from parts of Eurasia and North Africa where members are found growing in damp moorland habitats. They have a tufted habit with characteristic flat, linear grass-like leaves and erect stems carrying panicles of tiny flowers in Summer. They are cultivated for their attractive Autumn leaves, often coloured flowers and arching habit, preferring an acidic soil.
