Overview

A small genus in the lily family native to colder regions of North America and Eurasia. Unusual for lilies, Streptopus spp. are shade-dwelling herbaceous perennials that spread by underground rhizomes and they are commonly known as ‘twisted stalk’ due to the 90 degree turn of the emerging flower pedicels below each leaf.
