Spiraea douglasii Overview
This is an upright deciduous shrub which will grow about 1.8m tall and almost as wide. The leaves are oblong and have a dark green above and velvety white beneath. The flowers are rose-pink and borne in clusters about 20cm long.
How to propagate Spiraea douglasii
Propagation is by division between late autumn and early spring, other species and cultivars are propagated by softwood cuttings in the summer.
Other uses of Spiraea douglasii
Grown for their mass of small, bee-attracting flowers and in some species, their foliage. Suitable for northern and eastern aspects. Suitable for coastal conditions.
