Small genus with around 3 recognised species of evergreen, semi-woody vine, originating from Chile, Western Argentina and Peru. They produce bright, tubular flowers often red, orange or bicoloured. One species is commonly grown as a garden ornamental. This genus is not frost hardy and often grown as annual plants. They suit trellis growing and are nicely placed climbing around archways.
