Bishop's cap Overview

A genus of herbaceous perennials in the Saxifragaceae family native to North America and Asia where they are found in arctic and temperate zones. Members of this genus are rhizomatous plants with wide heart-shaped leaves and tall spikes bearing small 5-petalled flowers. Commonly known as miterworts or bishop’s caps, they are cultivated as ornamental plants for shady, woodland gardens.
