Monkey musk Overview
A genus of 7 species of annual, perennial or evergreen shrubs in the Phrymaceae (lopseed) family. They are native to parts of North America, Asia, Africa, Madagascar and Australia. They have paired leaves and often brightly coloured tubular or trumpet-shaped flowers. Some members are popular garden plants and most prefer a moist soil in sun or shade. They are not drought-tolerant.
