Slender Vervain Overview

Verbena rigida is also commonly known by the name hardy garden verbena. It is a hardy, perennial species which is often grown as an annual, with oblong leaves and fragrant, bright purple flowers on branching stems. These are produced in late summer and this species has been awarded a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. This species is part of the RHS Plants for Pollinators initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. When growing in frost-prone areas, provide winter protection such as dry winter mulch around the plant crown.
