Salad Thistle Overview

Small genus with only 2 species (D. spinosa and D. carnosa) of perennial herbaceous plants or subshrubs in the sunflower family, Asteraceae. They possess simple, oval leaves with rolled and toothed edges. They may have a felted texture, particularly in younger specimens, developing a smoother surface with age. Flowers are yellow and resemble daisies.
