Large pink Overview

A loosely tufted perennial native to mountains in Europe and temperate Asia. Its leaves are mid-green and about 8cm long. The rich purple-pink fringed fragrant flowers are produced singly or in pairs through summer. Grows to about 1m high. It is not often grown but has been used in producing some garden hybrids; is the parent of the Loveliness Strain which includes 'Rainbow Loveliness', with deeply fringed single flowers of varying shades of mauve and pink carried on slender stems in spring.
