Genus with just 1 species of herbaceous, rhizomatous perennial also known as coltsfoot. Originating from Europe, Western and Central Asia, many species once classified under this genus have been renamed, reclassified and moved to other more appropriate genera. Coltsfoot produces yellow flowers which resemble dandelions in appearance and this species may be consumed as food. It has also traditionally been used in herbal medicine.
