A delight to discover around every corner. Take a walk through the 18th-century at Painshill Park, where winding paths reveal hidden follies and views across vineyards and the Surrey hills.
Explore the 158-acres of Painshill Park and you might feel as though you’re wandering through a living work of art. John Hamilton was inspired by Renaissance painting to create the gardens, dotting them with unique follies to surprise his guests. Today, you can climb a gothic tower, discover a hidden hermitage and marvel at a sparkling crystal grotto. Bring a picnic and spend the day wandering around the Serpentine Lake, watching the trees’ foliage reflected in the water. A natural play area and wildflower meadows provide added interest for families, and four-legged friends are welcome. Mr Hamilton’s Tea Room serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, and you can pick up a bottle of Painshill’s own sparkling wine from the gift shop.
