The Tokara Wine and Olive Farm opens its gardens to the public once a year. This is one garden that shouldn't be missed! It's a magnificent place to be for the senses- from a garden dedicated to indigenous plants to a picking garden, Tokara has it all. As you stroll through the gardens take extra care to look at the statues and keep an eye out for the amazing views overlooking the dam. On the same day, Tokara hosts the Rare Plant Fair. Vendors will sell a variety of indigenous plants to the more exotic, with something for even the most discerning of plant lovers.

  • Tokara Restaurant

    Tokara Restaurant, situated 400 meters above sea level on top of the Helshoogte Pass outside Stellenbosch, offers its guests terroir focused contemporary cuisine, award-winning wines and dramatic views over Stellenbosch and False Bay. The building housing the restaurant is a Cape architectural icon utilising glass, steel and stone. Tokara Restaurant opened its doors in October 2001 and was one of the very first iconic winery restaurants established in the Cape Winelands area of South Africa. A prominent feature of the restaurant interior is five large-scale tapestries by internationally renowned artist William Kentridge. No other venue in the world has as many of these works from Kentridge’s “Porter Series” on display to the public. Lunch: Monday - Sunday Dinner: Tuesday - Saturday
  • Tokara Delicatessen

    Child-friendly bistro/deli situated on the picturesque Tokara Wine Estate at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain outside Stellenbosch. Thursday to Saturday: 09h00-22h00 Sunday to Wednesday: 09h00 - 17h00
  • Wine and olive oil shop

    Tokara focuses on two grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon blanc. You can taste and purchase their wine on-site. Tokara's extra virgin, cold-pressed Olive oils are produced in a boutique-style production plant adjacent to the Delicatessen where complimentary tastings of a range of extra virgin Olive Oils are available.
  • Rare Plant Fair

    Once a year, Tokara opens up their gardens to host the rare plant fair. Vendors will be selling a variety of indigenous plants to the more exotic, with something for even the most discerning of plant lovers. 09h00 to 16h00 Next plant fair: Saturday 18 April 2020. Entry for adults is R50 in aid of a local charity. Children aged under 10 have free entry.
