The Women's Quilt at The Workhouse

Sat 4th Apr + 6 more
'The Women's Quilt' will be on display at The Workhouse from International Women’s Day. This handmade quilt was made to remember women who lost their lives at the hands of their partners or ex-partners. Each of the 598 patches represents a woman who was tragically killed by a current or former partner in the UK between 2009 and 2015. ‘The Women’s Quilt’ was the idea of Roxanne Ellis, a borough councillor from Gedling in Nottinghamshire, who brought it to Parliament on International Women’s Day to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
