About Candide

Candide is a market-network platform helping businesses and the public break new ground in the garden, through the application of technology.
Candide is the gateway to inspiration for garden visitors using exciting immersive technology and enabling quick, contactless ticketing for visitor access. We also motivate the public to connect with nature and enable everyone to grow big and shop small, with curated online catalogues of plants, tools and accessories from exceptional independent businesses.
Based in central Bristol, surrounded by the greenery of Queen Square and the floating harbour, we enable people to progress their passion for plants and nature. We are a team of over 70, openly putting our people first; we're proud to be building a team that genuinely loves working and learning together. We know how important a positive, inclusive culture is, so have a read and see if you think we might be a good fit.

About Candide Admissions

Candide is rapidly becoming the partner of choice for visitable gardens to digitise more of their admission ticketing and membership processes. Following the creation of the UK’s largest digital-only garden membership, in 2020 we launched new solutions to enable the public to visit gardens contactlessly, including digital ticketing and check-in functionality. With more and more gardens joining the Candide family, we now have a dedicated team focussed on digital admissions for gardens and their events, and cross-platform garden membership solutions.

The Role

You will be joining and leading an autonomous cross-functional team made up of engineering, product design, data science, and account management and support roles, who share a passion for delivering value to our partners and end-users. In this role you will digitise more of the ticketing and membership products and services within garden venues: looking at how gardens offer events and workshops to drive visitation, and how they and their visitors can benefit from digital garden memberships. In doing so you will be thinking about our web and app platforms - for venues and their visitors - and how we deliver the right experience in the right way. Alongside this, you will consider new ways to leverage the increasing amounts of data we collect: to benefit our end-users and improve the way we develop products. Ultimately you will be motivated by enabling our garden partners to become more efficient through the use of technology, and passionate about the way Candide can help to sustain garden businesses for the future.

Your Background

We are looking for a Product Manager who has experience delivering web and app products to market, ideally in an eCommerce business. We are looking for someone who can inspire and motivate as part of a diverse team. Ideally, you will have experience working in a 3-sided marketplace - serving both business clients and end-users - or will have previously worked with B2B and B2C products. You will be able to share examples of how you’ve taken a new product to market, and iterated on an existing one, and how you used data, research, and experimentation in your approach. We’d love to hear about how you’ve balanced longer-term prioritisation in your teams alongside grooming your backlog and keeping in-play work moving forward.. You will be excited about talking to our friendly and knowledgeable customers to discover ways that we can add value to them and their visitors, and keen to share insights and best practices with your teammates and colleagues across Candide.

Working at Candide

We offer an amazing work environment - both in the office and outside of it, and a fast-paced development cycle that moves the product forward quickly and is very responsive to opportunity. We have a solid strategic plan, long-range funding, and a very experienced and capable team making it happen.
Candide has a friendly, plant-filled Bristol office, which the team is looking forward to returning to when it is safe to do so. We are happy to accept candidates who are living elsewhere, provided that they are able to move to the Bristol area when the office reopens.
Great communication means there is an inherent no-blame culture, and our collaborative and inclusive structure encourages everyone to share ideas on how we can improve our processes, growth, and product. Our teams have a short daily stand-up, this ensures we remain aligned, and those who build products stay very close to our customers that enjoy them. To encourage innovation, we hold monthly hack days where everyone can build something new that falls outside our current roadmap - an idea, a campaign, or even a small product - with whomever they like.
