A Bristol-based organisation is planning to plant 1000 trees this week to bring people together.
Plastic Pollution Awareness & Actions Projects (PPAPP) was set up with the hopes of engaging a diverse community and activate them to save the planet from plastic pollution.
Recently they have partnered with the Woodland Trust to distribute and plant trees in Bristol.

The Trust's campaign, "The Big Climate Fightback", wants to highlight the importance of trees in the environment. Trees "absorb carbon, fight flooding, reduce pollution, nurture wildlife and make landscapes more resilient."
Throughout National Tree Week (25th of November to 30th of December) they encourage people across the UK to plant trees in their gardens or donate to the trust.

PPAPP will be planting trees on sites near Southmead Hospital and Begbrook, near Bristol.
Founder Naseem Talukdar added:
“As well as planting the trees and the environmental and well-being benefits, the projects will bring people together from all faiths, backgrounds and ages providing an opportunity to educate people about the environment and empower them to make lifestyle changes to reduce their usage of single-use plastic. Let us all be part of the solutions and take responsibility for our actions.
