Pink Evening Primrose Overview

Oenothera speciosa is a herbaceous perennial plant from the Onagraceae family. Commonly known by the names Pink Evening Primrose and Pink Ladies. It can reach 30cm in height, growing through the use of underground rhizomes. Foliage is lance-shaped to oval, coloured green and leaves measure between 2.5-5cm in length, with toothed edges. Flowers are cup-shaped, coloured white and developing to a pink shade with age. Blooms measure approximately 8cm across. This species is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen.
