Ivy 'Goldchild' Overview
Hedera helix 'Goldchild' is a perennial cultivar from the Araliaceae family. It is commonly known as Ivy 'Goldchild' and sometimes sold under the names Hedera helix 'Golden Child' or Hedera helix 'Gold Harald'. Ivy 'Goldchild' is grown primarily for its lush foliage of light green young leaves broadly outlined with bright yellow. It forms a cool, green cover on walls or ground but is also wonderful in containers/ baskets, or draping over walls, and complements other plantings. In warm weather the yellow can change to a creamy white colour. This cultivar has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
