Rock Rose Overview

Cistus × purpureus is an evergreen shrub hybrid from the Cistaceae family. It is commonly known as Purple-Flowered Rock Rose, Rock Rose or Sun Rose. This plant has a bushy habit and produces pink-purple flowers with thin petals. The flowers measure around 8cm across, the petals have a red blotch at the base and the centres of the blooms are golden-yellow. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
